On windows you will need to download and install git-flow. On OSX systems, you can execute brew install git- flow. Packages for git-flow are available on multiple operating systems. Sadly I forgot that the develop branch is protected and needs at least one review before being allowed to commit to it. Afterwards I wanted to finish the feature and delete the feature branch. The installation process for git-flow is straightforward. In Sourcetree I created a new feature branch starting from develop and made some changes. The Git-Flow extension adds it s configuration in the following two sections, which can be freely edited. The git-flow toolset is an actual command line tool that has an installation process. So if you haven’t set up git-flow on this repo yet, it’ll help you do that by default. It is possible however to do it manually by editing the file /.git/config in your git repository. There’s a handy new addition to the toolbar in SourceTree 1.5 and above (keyboard shortcut Cmd-Alt-F): Git Flow Based on the current state of the repository, the Git-flow button will bring up a dialog with the most likely action you’d want to perform next.

I haven't tried creating/finishing releases, but I am not full of confidence. No, it is not possible (at least not at SourceTree 1.4.1.0). If I go to Other Actions, then Finish Hotfix, it brings up the dialog, but after a second or two, clears the hotfix/ABC-123-fix-this-bug entry from the dropdown and gives me an empty dropdown box, so I can no longer finish the hotfix. We work on SourceTree UI, it's possible to use/configure the Finish Feature to do a Pull. This module concludes with a project in which you use Git with a Gitflow workflow. Topics include pull requests, centralized workflows, feature branch workflows, forking workflows and Gitflow workflows. Now we want to use GitFlow and it seemed all right, but when a develop use Finish Feature on flow, the merge is automatic instead of using the pull requests. The better you understand Git's capabilities, the more effectively to can use it in your projects. If I then create the hotfix manually by branching from master, and I want to finish the hotfix, the Finish Hotfix option is again missing from the main GitFlow menu with only Finish Feature being present. At work we usually use Merge Requests process (on GitLab, it's like a Pull Request on Git I think). master -> ABC-123-fix-this-bug, instead of master -> hotfix/ABC-123-fix-this-bug. ABC-123-fix-this-bug, it creates the branch without the hotfix prefix i.e. If I go to Other Actions, I can see Create Hotfix, but when I click that and give a hotfix name e.g. Now, when I switch to the master branch, and go to the GitFlow actions menu, there's no Create Hotfix option, just Finish Feature and Other Actions. I have been using GitFlow integration with SourceTree on Windows 10 圆4 without problems, until I recently upgraded to 3.1.2.
